Bouchées à la reine, Chicken “vol-au-vent”

IMG_2056What can we do with puff pastry? Many things…such as “Vol-au-vent” (literally fly in the wind because it is very light!), puff pastry shells, filled traditionally with chicken, veal or fish in a white sauce. When I cook chicken, I buy a whole one, cut into pieces and make a broth with the bones and some vegetables. Then I finish it like a chicken stew. Today, I felt like cooking these “bouchées à la reine”.

IMG_2075Que peut-on faire avec de la pâte feuilletée? Beaucoup de choses…comme des bouchées à la reine ou vol-au-vent. J’achète souvent un beau poulet organique , le coupe en morceaux. et  avec la carcasse et des légumes, je fais un bouillon. J’utilise les restes pour faire une blanquette de poulet Aujourd’hui, j’étais tentée de faire ces bouchées.

Then enjoy as an appetizer or a complete meal if you add some rice.
